I just cleaned up the ends and ground down the not flat part to allow it to sit flat, I made this old negative cable a ground wire for my car. I checked resistance, melted and cut off the bolt, just ground the bits on one end, and wire wheeled the surfaces and cleaned tehe cable. I have so many old sbc side post cables everywhere
