Hey guys, I bought a 1979 K10 a few months ago, it had a broken np203 transfer case. I bought it knowing you was going to be a project truck, a few weeks later I bought a np205 transfer case and swapped it into the truck. When the original owner took out the np203 transfer case he must have misplaced the rear drive shaft and the front drive shaft. When I bought the np205 the seller told me that he had to driveshafts so I bought them as well. To make a long story short the rear drive shaft is definitely not from this Chevrolet truck, The U Joint in the back diameter is too big, and the yoke is a 27 spline yoke - my transfer case is a 32. I know the swap has been done before and I was wondering if anybody can give me a center to Center length of the drive shaft because at this point I think it would be easier to just build it myself. I purchased a driveshaft on eBay without really looking at the pictures and it ended up being a 2 piece slip yoke drive shaft. The output on my np205 is for a slip yoke. Also does anybody have an idea as to how long the Yoke needs to be to slide into the transfer case? I've seen them in five in, seven and a half inch, and 8 in length. Also, does the rear differential yoke use a 1310, 1350, or 1410 U joint? I know I'm asking for a lot, but I am sure one of you guys probably knows all of this information off the top of their head. Thank you in advance

Personally I would do a slip yoke eliminator if you’re going with a 205. Then you could possibly use that driveshaft you ordered. My 84 half ton suburban uses a “3r” u joint on both ends of the driveshaft but it has a 208 and a 10 bolt. I had to replace the slip yoke and I had to get a 3r to 1350 conversion U-joint, Napa had it in stock.
