NP 205 front output shaft gears slightly different?

My two front output shafts are slightly different and I am curious the reason. There is an extra groove in the gear on the 10 spline vs the 30 spline. See pic. Any ideas?

That 30 spline shaft could be from a synchronized case, their shift collar assembly is completely different.

Look at the tail end of the shaft that’s touching the bench, are they the same diameter?

Welp, that was my guess. If it were a syncro shaft they’d be different diameters on the back end.
