New posi unit for the 86 silverado

Hey guys so after a few hard years, my 10 bolt 8.5 gov lock POS rear end finally gave out. I bought a new posi unit for it. Any words of wisdom before me and my father tear something up installing the new unit? My father and I have never done anything like this and I'm not sure we completely understand the pinion depth and backlash stuff. If you have any tips to installing this please share.

You're going with new ring and pinion too right? Those ring gear teeth are not so favorable in a few spots.

Haha yea of course. Going with 3.73 back there Trust me them gears are chewed!

I'd take a look at Auburn too for sure. So you're going with a Limited Slip unit, not a locker? I like lockers better, but they are noisier and not as comfy at times.
