Hi everyone, just introducing myself. Recently bought a 78 custom deluxe. Been having a great time tinkering in it. I’ve got it running pretty darn good. It’s got sort of a hesitation/ jump at low rpm that I’m trying to figure out. Otherwise she runs like a champ!

Welcome. Nice looking ride. With these new fuels I've had issues with the accelerator pump before.

I’ve been using stable marine fuel additive, but the damage may have been done long before I got the truck. Thanks for that thought. It’s got an edlbrock carb which I’ve heard can be easily in need of tuning. I have zero experience with carbs but I think I’ll get a book or two. At least so I can rule out the carb.

Is the accelerator pump a difficult repair or pretty straight forward?

I’ll give it a shot! Where do I find the adjustments for the plunger adjustment? Like I said, I’m a carb newbie!

All you gotta do is figure out how to get the bent stick out of that flat thing with the clippy, and switch holes.

Surely there are proper nouns for them deals but I don't know what they are...was kinda hopin somebody what does would chirp in.

Wait for it.....

You're playin with a Quadrajet, right?

I've never had an Edelbrock, just Quadrajets. Youtube would be a good start as mentioned.
