Hey guys, new here to the forum. Getting ready to restore my 86 custom long bed. Yes I know, a lot of people keep asking why I am wasting money on a long bed.... well, my grandpa gave me this truck for my 16th birthday back in 1997. He had bought it brand new. Gonna be replacing the bed, floor pans on both sides, kick panel, and rockers.
I am also going to check over the motor (zz4) with less than. 2k miles, but it has not been run in 5 years.

Welcome to the forum. I personally rather a long box. I find short boxes useless. Ya buy a truck to haul why wouldnt you buy the one with the most space?

You can tell them long bed haters to come here. We'll tell them why you're SPENDING MONEY, not wasting it, and time on a long bed. Plenty of long bed guys here. The fact is was your grandpa's truck makes it priceless to you anyway. I'd just keep doing what you're doing and let the haters piss up a rope.

In most cases (at least mine anyway) thats what makes a square body special to me is the family connection. Plus the reliability of that truck, even after sitting rotting in our yard since 1996 and knowing (and proven) that the fuel pump line in a gas jug and a pull of the choke and she'll fire right right up and go everytime is what makes chevy special to me! Dads old $100 73' chevy c10 is the sole reason ill NEVER buy nothing but a chevy. (Sorry for the rant lol)

Atleast with a short bed you groceries and purse don’t slide to far out of reach.:happy175::happy175::happy175::happy175:
Yeah, it all ends up right in the center just out of reach so you have to hop up and get the **** anyways, lol.. :happy175:
