Hi All! New guy from southern Ca. I am the second owner of a 1977 C20 Scottsdale Camper Special. It is 95% original except for wheels and exhaust. The original owner used it for towing their 5th wheel until they retired the truck for a new one. It is still in good shape and runs strong and i am trying to decide whether to restore it to original or upgrade it with modern technology. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Really, it's up to you. If thinking about a LS they will perform better, get better millage, but the conversion cost won't ever pay off. No matter what is done it will still be an old truck, drive and ride like one.

I am one of those who like OEM. For me if it is unmolested leave it that way. However, if components are already modified, missing or worn out may be consider other options.

Thanks for the info! I am also an OEM person and this truck is closer to original than not and hasn't been molested and almost all the resto parts are still available.

Where might that be? I grew up way out in the dessert and we weren't exempt.

Also, Welcome from a former Californian!
