I recently installed a pair of BOSS 4 x 10 speakers in the cab corners. I have purchased a BOSS 800w amp direct from the BOSS website. I have a pair of Pioneer 6 x 9 speakers which were installed when I had the original system installed a few years back. I've removed them from their original boxes because I could never slide the seat all the way back. I cut and bent a piece of sheet metal at work today to mount the amp and speakers to. It will eventually be covered with vinyl and mounted behind the seat. I'll post pics as I go.

Got the speaker and wiring holes cut out today and located some plastic bushings for the wiring holes. Tomorrow I'll glue down the vinyl, mount the speakers and amp, and see if I can get all the wiring run.

Sprayed the metal with Nashua 357 adhesive. Installed the vinyl and trimmed the excess off. I am going to eventually install some Clear door edge molding around the edge of the metal base to protect the edge of the vinyl and to prevent the vinyl from coming loose. Installed the speakers, amp, and wire bushings. I left one bushing out for the picture. The 2 large bushings are for the speaker wires, and the RCA input audio cable from the head unit. The 3 smaller bushings are for the 12v supply to the amp, and the remote control wire from the head unit.

I finished it up. I went ahead and bought some edge trim because once I got it up and running, the metal was vibrating against the cab wall. After adjusting the amp my wife could hear the music in the house with the volume up 50%. PIC 1 is the 12v power wire penetration into the cab. PIC 2 is the 12v amp connection along with the remote on/off connection. PIC 3 is the final product. I'll clean up the wiring in the bottom of the picture later. The word BOSS on the amp glows blue to indicate it has power. I did have to hit Autozone to buy a different battery post bolt adapter to make the amp connection but it was under $5.

They sound great . I might try enclosing the sides if they'd sound even better. It wouldn't take much to make it happen.

I found this piece of 2" rigid foam in the scrap pile at work today and I thought it might be cut to enclose the open ends of my amp/speaker base I installed. It should be very easy to install. I'll post a picture and whether it made the speakers sound better.

I cut the foam board to size. Glued the vinyl to it and slid both pieces behind the base. I loosened the base up enough to slide them in then tightened the base back down to secure them. Sound-wise the only difference was a little more bass. It does looks a little more professional too.

It does look good, figured it would make more sound come out the speaker instead of out the sides..
