I won't re-write what I wrote in my introduction thread. I will start this new thread to document my travel and build. My wife likes to complete the documentation thing so I will ask her to make updates.

My messy shop. Had to put the crappy signal lights on to get the cops off my back. My LED lights are on order. Same with the motorcycle mirrors. Needed to pass inspection. They will be gone as soon as I cross the border. In the process of checking all of the wiring. Getting rid of all useless wiring and fixing all of the breaks. I will put in a brand new harness later. All my repairs are to get me south.

At least the truck came with a lot of quality Edlebrock parts.

When you run out of work space just open another table!!!!

It was originally a 6.2 diesel with a turbo 700 tranny.

Heh... I just noticed you were from Saskatchewan.... Funny enough if you had a newer vehicle plated in the province you could have easily plated the truck without a provincial inspection as an antique.. 1987 is the year they capped those plates at however so just on the edge of it.

The fact is I was planning on driving this truck into the USA and into Central America so unfortunately the antique vehicle plates do not give you the ability to leave Canada for extended periods as well as there is insurance issues. Antique plates are for taking your antique down the road to the county fair and back 3 times a year not on a 10,000 mile crazy trip.

I had big plans for this truck and was going to complete them rapidly but like all good plans there were problems. Had to go to work various times. Ended up stripping down a lot of the truck because of various broken items and configuration issues. It was for the best because I ended up pulling out all of the wiring to make many repairs and upgrades. Plans delayed but not forgotten. Hopefully I can save up enough money to put on aftermarket self-learning throttle body fuel injection before I make the big drive. Gives me time to contemplate which aftermarket suspension kits I will use with the airbag system. I am thinking ride tech in the back and fat man fabrications for the front. I used an IFS tranny mount so I can raise the badly routed exhaust.
