Picked up an original'ish 1975 medium lime chevrolet c10 swb stepside cheyenne. It's a straight six 3 speed manual on the floor. It's got character. Rust, Dents, Scratches, Old wood in the bed, It tells a story... I don't want to make a show truck, let it keep rusting and get patina haha...My first mods will be a rack and pinion, and updated wilwood brakes.. From there I will redo all the factory bushings that are dry rotted and figure out if I want to do a 6.0LS 4L80E swap, leave it stock, or Lower it but leave it stock running gear. Overall this is one of my favorite factory colors ever made on any vehicle, which is why I purchased it.

Should I leave it stock guys?

Should I do a slow n low straight 6 build with a 5' spindle drop 7' notch over under in the back and leave it ratty?

Should I LS swap it?

I don't know how to do a poll but I am curious what you all think.

I look forward to getting to know all of you.

The shift linkage broke while driving it home first time on I5 and made me late for work lol. So I definitely want to not have it happen again. I am struggling to find very many 3 speed on the floor it appears they usually where 3 on the tree. So I wonder if this was a floor conversion or if they factory ordered it like that. What are your guys thoughts?

That's a nice looking Chevy. I would not cut it up. You will lose it's simplicity, just my opinion. Welcome!! And good luck with your build.

Welcome from Georgia! Love that color. I agree w/ @Shorty81. I wouldn't change it. KISS method and reduced # of headaches.

Maybe the only upgrade I would do is add power brakes.

That’s a very nice looking truck!

I can’t tell without a straight side shot, but I think you’ve already got a little lowering (or spring settling) going on.

I think that’s the Goldilocks stance for a two wheel drive. Not too high, not too low and good wheel to tire ratio.

:welcome: Nice truck! If it was mine I'd leave it just like it is (including the inline 6) other than new carpet and new seat cover that goes with the interior. That thing is pretty snazzy :) I say keep the inline 6 just to be different because so many have been ditched in favor or 350s or LS swaps and I like to be different :)
