Nice progress forward.
Every single bolt, nut, and screw came out/off, zero studs broke, and saved the GMC cab corner and blade moldings on the back of the cab. Going to replace side moldings. Rebuild the wing window assy’s while I’m at it.
Why replace the side trim? It looks good in the photos I thought.
Didn’t want to mess with freshening up. Up close the trim was going to stick out on fresh paint. I didn’t throw away any of it if I come across another square needing some driver trim.
It broke my heart to half to pitch the windshield, it had a real cool crack (a perfect 6” circle) in the upper right corner.
The Ford Bronco mirrors are not going back on. RIP
Getting massaged, smoothing out some of the old age wrinkles.
The hood, oh the hood! This thing needed a WHOLE LOT MORE sunscreen.
Looking good! I know how much work it takes to get it prepped for paint. You don't wanna rush and get a half assed job.
More progress, the Ferd mirror holes and the OE LH mirror holes are filled. Will probably start squirting next week.
Ford mirrors off, paddles will go on, start squirting next week if everything keeps moving. I really like these guys.
Absolutely love it ! Great wheel and tire choice.. and the stance is just right !
Just posting these to keep the pics in this thread in order.
Dang that color is beautiful
Yeah, I loved the wheel/tire combo but they are going. Long story but tired of the shake and vibration. 15x10’s w/5”BS is truly problematic on the front of these trucks. A-frame clearance is an issue but solvable, however, tie rod clearance is not. I had to grind away some of the round part of the TR end to clear the rim, screwing up the grease boot. I knew when I replaced the outer TR ends the wheels(frt at least) were getting replaced. Since I painted the truck, “theme has changed to bling”. Pics later.
