Hello GM fam, I need a little assistance. I have a 91 v2500 suburban with a 350 motor and a 400 trans everything is stocked. I want to add some more horsepower without spending a lot….I want to change my intake and my tbi just need a little advice on a good combination to use as far as what type intake and tbi unit and if there’s anything else I would need to change also. Oh I already have the K&N filter…thanks in advance!!

Hi junior.
Got a timing light?
Try more ignition advance, that's what you're after. Save your funds for new parts and buy an advance light. Digital with buttons or get one with a dial. Stock setting is 0° I think. My truck is running at 9.5 in Oklahoma. (Digital light is win)

A K&N air filter won't cure what ails you. More ignition advance is a step in the right direction though.

If you throw away the stock muffler and replace it with a Dynomax Super Turbo at the same time you will then have a bonafide hotrod. Ask anybody.

Could advance or retard cam timing. Maybe do a cam swap. I always like changing cams and adding headers to mine.

Your tbi right? TBI is pretty forgiving. I'm pretty sure Gm made some good ones. Like maybe the ZZ4 cam. And for headers buy name brand and I wouldn't recommend stainless. I've liked my flowtec and old blackjacks

These Pacesetters are made for the TBI trucks.
They bolt right up to the stock Y pipe if that is your thing.
Built with thick flanges they should work great.

I have not installed these just yet as I am not sure how much hot rodding I want to do to my Suburban.

Unbolt the exhaust manifolds and toss everything between them. Replace with an LS. Live happily ever after.

@SquareRoot I'm not a fan of ls swaps but I admire your tenacity, thus the like. Now who ever said tbi is real forgiving on cam selection,no they are not. Tbi is manifold pressure controlled, anything that effects vacuum is going to mess with your tbi. If you run much cam at all you will need a chip burned.
