    Hi Folks,

while quickly progressing on my C20, I "accidentally bought" a 1975 RHD C60 as a work truck.

I am going to pick it up this weekend.
I did a one day course/test to get my national Aussie truck driving licence.
I booked air tickets to fly up to Lismore NSW.
Plan to drive this truck, that I've never seen, back to Melbourne Victoria.

Truck is not registered, so I need to get a temporary permit from my home state, Victoria.
This, driving in daylight hours only….

Direct journey route is 1600 km..... that's 1,000 miles......one way

That's as far as Los Angeles to ALBURQUERQUE

Now, about half way along the journey is a guy from whom I recently bought a RHD 52 F1 cab with nice dash, so I plan to "stop by" to pick up my cab....

I try to book a hotel room in the sleepy little hole where he lives, and they are $700 per night????

    You see.....he lives in Bathurst.....where once a year they block the public streets to convert Mount Panaroma into Australia's biggest motor racing event;

It just happens to be on THIS weekend......

…...and now TV news just warned of in-process bushfire warnings and 38 degrees C (100 degrees F) heat every day at the moment.

    What could possibly go wrong......

I thought this was posted already, or maybe you posted those pics in a separate thread. Really cool truck, and I wish I could find one of those air cleaner assemblies, it would be perfect for the 292 going into Crusty Biscuit.

Sounds like a good excuse to stay and watch the race. I really want to head to Bathurst some time, but its a bit of a drive from the West.
The truck looks awesome to by the way

    Love the truck!

Many moons ago I spent a Canadian winter, aka an Australian summer, working as a Jackaroo near Trangie, NSW. Looking up your route brought back memories of road tripping with the neighbour boys to the Gunnedah B&S for New Year’s Eve. Would it be possible to camp on the deck when needed? Document your journey when the time comes!
