Kinda a square, this winters project.

A 76 GMC Sprint. Traded for it years ago, got it running and driving then the eldest daughter took it, actually traded her 87 short wide. Tranny laid down on her in Kansas, so, being pappy, you know. Now she wants an 78 Blazer I have took apart, so she can build it back up. So, I get the sprint back.
Old engine runs fine, but going to do something,?, so it will scare prius drivers at red lights. And, it's getting a manual tranny....rather a 4, but will do a three if that's what I can find??
Any body have a 4 or 3 speed Manual laying around? Bell housing? Clutch assembly that will fit up in there? Or a front bumper, them things are like hens teeth!!

I've got the original 3 speed manual from my '81 C10. I know the trans is good, but I don't know if you could use the clutch and flywheel from the old straight 6. I'll make you a deal on it because it's just taking up space, but I don't know what the shipping from South Texas would cost you.

So, what you want for the whole mess?

GMC Sprints are rare compared to El Camino's. 1971-77 were only about a 1/10th of EC's production numbers.
Year: 1976
El Camino - 44890
GMC Sprint - 5436

If you want some inspiration, here's our own Keith Seymore's Chevelle.

Dang! Had never seen those numbers, sure didn't make many that year. Though with that many, El Caminos, Chevells and Malibu's I believe? Person would think he could find a front bumper, but I haven't???

Thanks! Cool article.
