Hi,

Does anyone have pics of K5 tire carriers? Mine came with a factory external one per the codes in the glove box but the one I have looks home made.
I think the mounting points are correct just not sure about the rest.

Thanks.
They seem to be from 70's model K5's.
Do you know if it changed in the 80's?
I have an 82.

@rohuie I could only post 5 photos. Here's one on an 88-91 Jimmy. I'm thinking the longer carriers that center the tire are old Hickey Enterprises Inc. versions.

This looks like the kind you posted earlier. More simple than the one I have.
Do you think mine is a factory style?
It has black paint under the maroon as the rest of the truck does.
It's midnight black originally.

Being that my K5 was originally Tan with Apple Red through the center and Tan top, I think mine is going to look alot like this one when I get it done. More of Military Desert Sand with all the chrome blacked out. I seen this one and going for this, but I'm not thinking I'm going to lift it. I might though. I was going to save the lift for the K10/20 project. If the K10/20 project doesn't get moving soon, then I'll just put my 3/4 ton axles and lift on the K5.

Yep, I just totally hi jacked this thread now. But to keep on topic just a little bit, I will be looking for that spare tire carrier shown on the tan one too since there isn't alot of interior storage space on the K5 like there is in a Burb.

I wish someone would buy my neighbors. It's gotta flat front tire for like 4 years now and it never moves. He used to drive it but, now here it sits.

I've seen this type more than once and it appears to be effective.

It works and can hold a load. After I raise the rear bumper I will be have a double stacked hitch that will be interesting to say the least but will free up my receiver.
