Anyone know where to obtain the inner fender patch panels on 86 Silverado 10. Shows 3 bolts holding it in but to my understanding when talking to other square body owners, it is on almost all and is a strong candidate for rusting out. GM supposedly used this area for a reinforcement from the inside out. I was told someone makes the replacement panels that one can weld in. this would be advantageous to replacing the inner fenders. THANKS

Not aware of a replacement, but I made one out of a piece of patch panel and welded it in. Not hard to do at all.

I see the OP is in Wisconsin so getting a set of used ones in better shape might be tough. Down here they're all over.

I've heard the re-pops aren't too bad at fitment since you don't have to worry about body lines and such.

Hey Allan,
Where you able to find any of those little access panels? I'm also looking for some, found a newer 'burb with good ones but I couldn't get them off! Anyway, I'm still looking, looked at probably 2 dozen one's from local bone yards but can't find a good set.

What is the purpose of those triangular panels anyway? Mine are rusting out and have never dealt with the inner fenderwells.
