I think there were other dealers with them too, after they saw the slight rise in popularity. I saw one once here in KS at a dealership, and it was new. The truck was a '15, and it was in '17 when I saw it.
I also agree with you on the '14 & '15 trucks, resembling a square. That's why I sought my new truck out specifically in 2015.
Spotted on the west outerbelt of Columbus a few days ago....
And I frequently see this one in London, OH. It appears to be a daily driver....

Saw this ratty 2wd long bed while coming home from the grocery in my suburban.
At the local junkyard. I should have taken more pics. Looks like it was some sort of crane or boom truck.
Looks like 79 or 80 maybe??? Hood still looks straight! Side markers look nice.... have a tank switch valve?
A nice and clean one I saw across the street while at work.
Aside from the Ford mirror/wheels, this 77 bonanza was entirely original.
