Where the hell did you find that?

Character Map in Windows Accessories. They've got everything in there:

It's the thing marked with this-> Ω

I will clarify a bit - it has that setting, and tells you where to plug the leads in, then tells you to short them and look for a reading on the display of 1.

Seems like I get almost the opposite results, but either way does not lead to a feeling of certainty.

The leads are also kind of short so checking the wire from the switch connector to the lock actuator connector is a challenge.
And, since there are 3 smaller wires that bundle with the larger actuator power wires - blue and brown, IIRC, I am not sure how to test them.

I tried listening for a relay tonight - kind of hard to hear and so far cannot be found by sight if there.

May be time for a better meter, and perhaps check continuity between the connector under the dash by the kick panel to the switch connector.

If there is continuity in the blue wire in that test then it would seem to imply that wire including in the door and jamb is good, and the problem is elsewhere.

Sound reasonable?

Sounds like you're on the right track.

You don't need an expensive meter. Harbor Freight has one for ~$7.

Bought a meter at Wally World today that measures continuity- and temperature, too.

Twenty bux - not too bad.

No continuity between the connector under the dash and the switch connector on the blue wire- problem confirmed.

Took the door side bolts out for the rubber wiring boot and the problem was plain as day - the wire broke.

Fixed ugly with a butt connector, but it is fixed for now.

As a post script, had to take the door panel off again today as the connector to the lock actuator came loose.

Used the meter again to confirm the wires were good.

Goldie must like me playing with her whether I am in the mood or not ...
