My 85 C10 OEM hood bounces a little when at speed, it’s not bent and I've tried adjusting the plastic screws in and out. I've also adjusted the hood latch down and that seems to have helped a little, but it's still scary watching it as you ride down the road. Any help is greatly appreciated as always:big_banana_Dance:

There should be a spring attached to the hood next to the latch, do you have that or is it missing?

The spring should be on the hood next to the latch at the front of the truck.

Yes I have the spring and the bounce is at the front, kinda like the bounce of the dancing bananas that's why I a put them in the first post.

Really having a hard time understanding why this is happening. Any way you can take a video of it?

Are your core support mounts shot? Maybe everything is actually moving up there, not just the hood?

I can try to shoot a video tomorrow, it the front of the hood bounces up looking like it's going to fly open. It's been this way for years and never popped open, but still unnerving...

It's not cracked right up front in the middle is it? That will make a hood flap around.

Are the tires out of balance? That would do it.

I've got an issue with my hood on my 85 K1500 too. It doesn't so much bounce, but it seems to be sitting up much higher on the left than the right. I've adjusted the hood stops and such and no changes. I haven't worried much about it but it's starting to bother me now cuz it looks like ****. I'll have to get some pics.

Think I figured it out. A few weeks ago we had an ice storm and some branches fell on the hood and caved it in a bit. When I went to pop it back out I noticed that the crossbrace under the hood isn't glued to the sheetmetal any longer. I'm going to find some body bonding glue and reattach it and see if that does the trick. I'll let everyon know what I find out.

I have the same problem on my 82 hood. What is the best product to use to properly bond the crossbracing to the skin?
