That’s cool! I have a set for mine, original GM in the box, but they came without the rubber pads (or whatever goes between the the rail and the sheet metal). Any suggestions?
The gaskets are plastic, there’s a couple of vendors that sell them,
you can also get complete hardware sets.

if your truck is a driver and you’re not concerned about show quality authenticity, you can make the gaskets with gasket material or rubber. Using the base of the end irons and piers as a template.

This most likely would have been mine, I was prepared to bid on it but went higher than what I wanted to pay.

I have a thing for step sides. When I was growing up my Dad had a 76 Ford F250, long bed step side that he gave me when I was in high school outside of Pittsburgh in the early eighties. I hated that truck with a passion because all my friends parents had nice newer cool cars, not some farm truck. I was always embarrassed by it. When I was 16, I promised myself I would never own a old truck again.....

Fast forward 40 years......:rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao:
I currently have 2 in various stages of restoration. '85 Silverado K10 short bed and a '87 Sierra Classic 2 wheel drive short bed. Somebody is laughing at me from up above

The holy grail C-10 is the one that your butt is currently sitting in and you are driving it down the road as often as possible! So many never-to-be-finished C-10’s are sitting collecting dust right now, makes me sad.

“ I do appreciate the 81-87”

Hey. These are definitely my favorite front ends. Here’s a couple of pictures of mine. A lot of smoothing and shaping got me the look that I was going for.

It was a dark blue single cab k20 sm465/205 454 Mmmm...had camper shell on it from new with 2 small beds for hunting cb radio all possible options available for this bicentennial Chevy Truck. The door panels said spirit of 76 on them and looked super Rad!! He ended up not getting it and I haven't seen it since. Anyone else seen a bicentennial chevy?

There was one posted on a forum here a few weeks back. I had never seen the Square version but had seen the Nova version.

Mine would be a 1978 C10 Scottsdale 350/th350. Purchased new by my father and mother in late 77 at Galles Chevrolet. I have all the paper work including the original sales contract with my grandfather as co-signer. My dad passed in 2021 and I bought it from his estate. All original, paint fade on the roof and top of tail gate the rest is in excellent shape. Unfortunately had to turn in the original 77 title to mvd but I made a copy of it.

That thing is beautiful. The kind of beautiful that I would be nervous parking downtown and leaving unattended. Glad you’ve kept it in the family.

I think that it is the square that you own and love that is the Holy Grail. With that said, it really depends on your perspective and use. I'm a short bed 1/2 ton guy. Others prefer the 3/4 and 1 tons. Now some of the really rare ones may demand a higher premium, the Blazer Chalet as an example. But outside of those types of examples, I don't know of any others considered a true Holy Grail.
I like the long bed 1/2 ton's, but my current is a 3/4ton long bed. It's only my 2nd Squarebody. My first was a 74 Custom Deluxe 2wd Longbed in 1986

Thank you. When my grandpa passed they let his truck go to the scrapyard (77 hi boy 4x4) it wasn’t great but it was his. I was a kid when a tow truck picked it up, I wish I’d said something.

I did sell a few cars of my dads that were not worth restoring or too far gone for me to deal with. But that truck took me to school, church functions, graduation, etc. I’ve had some ridiculous offers and won’t part with it.

I drive that truck all winter long and summer nights (no A/C) Cadillac is my summer car.

I like the Eldorado (and the TR-6/TR-250)!

That Eldorado goes with me all summer, it’s my daily driver. I took it to Denver last year. 500 cid Cadillac engine is so smooth you got tap the skinny pedal to know it’s on. 2.73 gears and fwd that 8.2L will light those front tires up. Holds 80mph no problem in 3rd.
