Help with strange noise

Ok i have this clanking noise mostly in 1st gear when accelerating hard and usually stops after shifting into 2nd, and a vibration afterward when hitting high rpms in all gears, any ideas? my vehicle is a 1987 chevy k5 blazer 5.7 465 trans. 4x4 someone must have had this problem before, any help?

think it could be anything else because to the best of my knowledge they are all fine but i could always be wrong

i did find that my right exhaust was loose so replaced the hardware and tightened it back up but to my dismay its still doing it...:shitsweak:

Block the front wheels, Jack the rear of the truck up, place on jack stands. Put gear selector in neutral, crawl under truck check u-joints again, also check the pinion play in the Differential.

Then make sure you check for play in the output shaft

Kinda hard to check the output shaft of the Transmission, I ment to check the output of the Transfer case.

I guess theres a chance the chain in the transfer case could be stretched and slapping the in of the casing at a low driving speeds.

ok let me get home from work and do this thank you for the suggestion...davbell but would that also cause the vibration at high speeds?

ok just did a visual check is my transfer case supposed to have a little movement, i noticed there is probably around 1/16th of an inch between it and the mounting bracket, would this be making the noise at all?

You mean the bracket is loose or the rubber mount is wore out?

rubber looks fine but the transfer case actually has a little movement, i believe the bracket is secure

ok i must be stupid i thank you all,both of my rear u joints are worn and loose, hopefully this will resolve this
