Is the proportioning valve supposed to be mounted up under the front of the frame or up by the master cylinder? One piece at a time resto project and not sure if this is right. Pictures are attached.

Any suggestions on what to get for a new one that’s not junk? Thanks!

On frame. I cut a square hole in lower fan shroud to ease access. Then glued (epoxy) tabs on the cut out and mounted back with screws. Suggest Nicopp brake lines. Bend by hand.

Mine is located on the frame front. I couldn't find it for a while until I installed a new one.
