My son (15yr old) and I are attempting to do some work and learn things on a 77 c15 that I bought for him. We just swapped out a new HEI distributor and when connecting it I noticed this became disconnected. I tried to reconnect it and the tabs broke. I have no idea what this can be. Any help would be great.

It looks like an oil pressure switch (for the gauge), the tee fitting is an add on. Does it have gauges or idiot lights on the dash? My guess is the silver/black switch is probably for the factory light and the copper tube is for a mechanical gauge that’s been added.

It appears like something oil pressure related. That looks like a straight 6 and I know on my straight 6, there was a oil pressure switch tied in with the choke on it.

That’s exactly what it is. Thank you both for the help and info!
