I’m sitting in a motel room in a small town in West Texas. Drove 6 hours out here to pick up a 1987 V10 SWB in the morning. That’s how far I had to go to find one rust-free, hahaha!
I’ll post up some pics of it on the trailer tomorrow. It’s got a MAACO paint job on it covering up what’s left of the original paint after the West TX sun baked most of it off. Truck is VERY stock, no lift, factory aluminum wheels, but there’s little stuff like the sliding back glass has been replaced with solid, dash cut for a CD player, stuff like that. Haven’t driven it yet but supposedly it’s a strong runner, the current owner has had some work done to it since he’s owned it to get it in good mechanical shape. We’ll find out for sure tomorrow.
I grew up around these, owned a 1981 C10 Silverado SWB back in my late teens that wasn’t in nearly as good of shape as this one looks to be. I loved that truck but 2 things back then I wished it had was 4WD and a 350 instead of the 305. Made sure to find one that had both this time around.
Anyway, that’s my intro. I’m sure I’ll be in here plenty asking questions, I’ve been lurking and reading since last month when I started talking about getting an old Chevy Pickup again.
