Hey all, new here.
First I apologize for the poor camera quality as well as lack of knowledge.
I absolutely appreciate any input but understand I am learning.
I suppose a bit of back story on how I became the proud owner of my 84 may help.
Originally was given the truck when I was 16 from my aunts husband, he had put a lot of time into it but came to a point that he felt I deserved it and may come to appreciate it more. I am now 23.
When I first got it obviously I knew nothing useful despite being around these trucks much of my life.
I was told this is an 1984 k10 body that has had a 1974 454 swapped in as well as a 700r4. It currently sits on a 4inch suspension lift and 2 inch body lift for anyone curious.
I have yet to reference numbers on the block but I do know I have a later 700r4 given the headache of work I had to do or lack there of on who ever bolted the trans up before.

I don't know much more other than the info given to me. unfortunately shortly after receiving it, it had to be moved roughly 40 minutes away to another relatives house where it basically sat. Kind of an out sight out of mind thing. I did at one point try looking into the wiper issue but mostly she sat until this summer when I returned with a more stable financial situation after finishing school and much more knowledge of dealing with vehicles in general. the first pictures is how she has sat for most of the years. Part of what helped get my rear in gear on this was that my relative who owned the property was going to sell the property therefore it had to find a new home.
I knew the truck started and ran, it did so pretty well from what I remembered. I was told it has an aftermarket cam so it was gone through at least to a point before I had gotten it.

Initially she did start and run and drive! then my problems really started..

as you can see from the pictures, I moved her roughly 1/2 the length of the body.
the problem was I started shredding starters.. I couldn't get it turn over any longer. In fact I did a damn good job at grinding the Bendix teeth to nubs before I figured to look into the flex plate situation where I found a surprise equivalent to stepping in a fresh dog turd but much deeper..
The Flex plate was being held to the torque converter by no less than two very short bolts each at a very aggressive angle. The third bolt hole wasn't even contacting the converter pad and made for a very oblong rotation.. Long story short I ended up pulling the trans back on about 8 or 9 inch bolts with just a single jack exactly where it sits in the picture above.
I opted to go with a new flex plate and converter. The converter on there was 9 1/4 or 9 3/8? bolt circle and I for the life of me couldn't find a flexplate that worked with both that diameter as well as externally balanced for the 454..

After many long drives in traffic and late nights I had finally got everything switched out and bolted back up. it now has a new unit from Boss Hog off Summit. 10.7" bolt circle for both and everything was gravy again. I'm hoping all stays well.
I was able to get it towed to its new home for now at my uncles house where it'll dream of looking as good as his 74 cheyenne super which i'll also be posting pictures of here and there. Sorry for novel, thanks for your time.

Welcome to the site. I don't know if it matters between the two engines, but do a 454 and SBC use the same torque converter? I know flywheels are different but... Torque converter bolts are short, IIRC about 1/2"-5/8" long.

Nice trucks BTW.
