Say hello to the Beast. 1979 Chevy K24 4x4 3/4 ton with 1 ton overloads. 119,000 original miles on the 350. I inherited this truck from my aunt and uncle when the passed. I was with them in when they bought this truck brand new in 1979. When my Aunt passed in 2019 at 99 years old, I had to start going through things and found the bill of sale and everything. This bad boy cost a 8900 back then.

I have officially decide to restore this puppy.

So far have replaced the plugs, wires, rotor and coil. WHY? Well..they were never changes. Also, I just put front brakes on it. Rotors and pads. Never been changed either. One side was down to the fins. Drums on the back are okay for now.

What do you mean by restore? It looks too nice to me to do a full restoration, but I'd at least buff out all the paint, fix that big dent in the bedside, and shine up all the chrome.

The paint is pealing and scratched. (they had it repainted once). The dent in the back..yeah..uh..that was me about 2 months ago turning too tight with a trailer. So my goal is to get it repainted and do the interior work. Needs new door panels and dash. Other than that..I am going to clean it up for the most part. There is barely any rust underneath. Had the 4 wheel drive linkage greased up and it is working as it should now.
