What's the Volvo thing about ? Tell us more
Yeah, what he said! Not often (never in my experience) you see someone putting a marine engine in a truck! If its the right rotation, it seems like a great option. Standalone controller for ECM. Probably a fairly straightforward drive by wire setup even.

Oh and nice trucks too!

Oh I've seen people put marine motors in trucks and cars lol, but I had no idea what this Volvo stuff is labeled 7.4

So I was looking for a long runner EFI intake for a big block, come to find the only place that did anything direct port injection was boat stuff. The 7.4 Volvo Penta is basically a rebadged Gen6 long block with everything mounted to it, fuel pump, surge tank, ECU everything in one package.

This is a kinda kit-bash of an engine build, the block is a Gen6 GM crate motor I got from an engine shop with only one year in a Suburban before the owner wanted something bigger, the intake is from a Boat for the long runners, just got a GM cam position pickup and 58x tooth crank pickup, removed the distributor and use a oil pump drive from a 4.3 vortec V6. It’s more of a science experiment.
