Almost got stranded with the wife at the movies because I left my headlights on. Time to fix that buzzer warning signal for dummies.

I looked at the wiring diagrams in my original shop manual, but so far I can't find it. I'll keep looking.

In the mean time, is the buzzer for the headlights seperate from the buzzer for leaving the door open with your keys in the ignition? Because that buzzer works. From looking at the shop manual, it appears there is a single buzzer for the ignition key, headlights, and seatbelts.

I'm just starting this little investigation, so any hints would be appreciated. This is an '84 C10.

Thanks guys,
Stepperado

Never looked into it myself, although I should. The headlight reminder works in only one of my trucks.

There is only one buzzer. Yours may be bad. Here is a wire diagram. It's actually a signal from the parking lights, not the headlights that trip the buzzer. A combination of that signal and a signal from the key switch. It's not just a buzzer, it has a circuit board in it.

Okay...with that spiffy diagram...how do I go about locating the buzzer u it itself? I can't locate it at all on my fuse panel.

OK, 89 suburban is 'da man. You really helped out, cause I could not find this info in my shop manual. Now that I know what I'm looking for I'll go through it again. Thanks for your effort buddy.

I think 1984 is a bit different, I want to say they still had the buzzer instead of the fully electronic chime like in 1989-91. Once my computer is 100% again, I will have a look. I think i have a 1984 wiring diagram in the garage that I need to scan.
