To late now, the nut has already broke and spun.
When the cab mount nut has spun. Can't make you sick and show the rest of thre rust free cab.
Couple different ways of going at it, but being you likely want to replace the retainer but on the inside of the support 2” hole is the way... where do you live HotRodPC! I’d like to swap money for cab lol
Right in the heartland of USA. Oklahoma City, OK.
Damn that’d be a 2-1/2 day drive... worth it but not quite...
Laid off work...
All the time in the world and can't go anywhere. Life is funny, isn't it. Have you tried looking into shipping at all? Seems like you could get one of those hot shot guys to get it to the border for you.
Great idea, cept pretty sure hotrodpc isn’t selling, and I can’t afford to buy...
I’m alive! I never knew how much of a parents time can be occupied by having a kid!especially a 12 yo with a whole whack of issues, it’s happy process though we have a foot hold on it all a bit better now, I’ll tell you what I absolutely despise though - TIKTOK What a horrible app these kids are attached to!! FML, anyways apologies to those following these posts will be sparse at times due to time and schedule constraints but I’ve made a little progress today, DS rocker started November 2019 is placed ready for final tack up and my goal today is to get the inner cab corner all welded in entirely after that well the cab corner placed and tacked once done weld it all up and Finally start ripping into the Passenger side. But... like all things in my world, nothing is as you plan, quiet sure yours is the same...
Fitment, fitment, fitment, did I tell you about fitment? If any of you know anything about auto body work and see what I’m doing as incorrect please help me out because I am not omnipotent. These replacement panels are never perfect, granted they are two /three times better than that dad had bought 20 years ago but still, you will have to modify, and fit, and remove and fit and so on to get things where you want the body lines to be. You can see where I have to take some of the lip edge out to fit, marked out in blue, and I will still need to step the top and centre sections of the cab but little bits at time. What I can’t decide on is stepping the cab and recessing the cab corner over or stepping the cab corner and placing it behind.
Some of the spot welds will need to be taken down before final assembly also, it’s the little things you learn as you go though. Like not dropping your small curved auto body dolly between the inner and outer cab corner after having 25% of it tacked in! 1/2 hour to get that bloody thing out! FML
It took me a year, but it’s ready to be completely welded in this weekend! Prepare yourself, it’s easy just to weld it in, the part that’ll drive you nuts is the preparation to weld it, do not be scared to beat it with the hammer and dolly, or even having to cut a wedge to get the fitment and curvature and lines you want.
Amazing two days in the shop this week, and it’s welded, completely.... well at least one side
