New guy to the forum here. Here's my 82 stepside, mild 350 with a Tremec TKO600 5 speed. She is a fun driver but definitely could use a little more go.

nice truck, I will look for it when driving around town. Go is easy just takes more money. Easiest way is lower gears, I know someone.

5th is .64 if I remember correctly.
The motor is an old Targetmaster 350 that was rebuilt 6 years ago and has only 2k miles on it. Mild cam (I'd guess a 450 lift, but I'm no expert), Edelbrock performer intake, Holly 600, headers and 3" exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. It runs and drives very well and it has decent power, but I want a little more.
Good news is with the 5 speed it gets 15 mpg at 70 mph all day.

What's your tire size? Just a town cruiser or a bunch of highway?

Ive never messed with those fancy manuals, so I couldn't say what ratio. Probably about a 3.73 at least. There's others here that would know better.

You would benefit from a regear. I truly believe that would satisfy your need for more "get up n go" with no added power.

255/60/15 up front and 275/60/15 in the rear. It's just a fun cruiser, I don't drive it much. I take it to work about once a week in the summer plus weekend cruising. Its garage kept and never sees rain or snow.
I was thinking something in the range of 3.42 in the rear. I think 3.73 might be too deep for me.
