Gentlemen

First of all this is my first big block so im kinda flying blind.
Anyhow, i need to know if there is a difference in the alternater bracket and power steering bracket between big and small block. Also are the serpentine belt assemblies the same between the two?

Any help is appreciated
Thanks, Red

They are different.

You can use a small block serpentine setup (the style with aluminum brackets) with some bracket adapters from Kwik Performance and a factory 7.4 serpentine crank pulley.

When you say “they” are different are you referring to the v-belt brackets?

Yes, he's talking about the vbelt brackets being different. SBC's and BBC's don't share any common brackets (vbelt or serpentine) except for the spacer on the long alternator bolt.

I have the Kwik Performance SBC serpentine conversion kit on my Gen IV 454 and love it.

The brackets are different for all years and both belt styles. Small block stuff doesn't fit without the adapter brackets.

I just became aware of the brackets from Kwik Performance yesterday. Do you happen to know which years I can pull the aluminum brackets off the 350's?

'88-'95, for the most part. Car and truck brackets were similar, but the truck brackets are taller. I don't remember if either style can be used, but I think so.

Also look at 4.3’s as they use the same brackets as a 350. My pass side bracket is from a 4.3, no smog pump mount - much cleaner looking.

Just scored all the hardware and brackets for $100.00! Sweet! So I guess all I need is the adapter plates from Kwik. Pumped!
