I’m curious if there’s a company that sells the factory style gasket for sealing the blower box to the firewall!?

After cleaning out 50 years of mouse house I found some rot thru the box that I’m going to fix and got all new heater core etc to replace. But after spending time today scraping the fire wall I realized I’ll need to seal it back up when I goto install everything

Tips tricks or anything you did would be helpful!

***picture is pre cleaned lol

3M dum dum tape. Or strip caulking. It'll be on the shelf at your local parts store.
Thanks! Picked some up this morning. Still gotta pull the interior box down and replace the heater core

You'll need foam tape for the inside box.

I used a foam core butyl tape. Worked great for both the box halves and sealing it to the firewall. 6mm x 12' from Amazon. it was enough to seal the box and seal it to the firewall. I think I have maybe 1 foot left over. I believe GM used something similar.

I prefer butyl to the 3M strip caulk (dum dum). That stuff does not work good for anything. I have seen techs use it for years and was never impressed. Butyl is far superior.

Here is what I used.

I like using black cork tape for these kind of applications.

I used the dum dum and then seam sealer around the outside like the factory did.
