I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever go away. I've smelled worse things, but damn...
Front view... Round eye...
Paint match mirror upgrade
Helluva deal. Tough break for the previous owner. Snooze you lose. If it had sat for 15 years, then he reallly wasn't all that interested in it.I sure wouldn't be losing sleep if I were you.
Very kind words... Thank you... It wil makes nice addition to the fleet... Need a push bumper and some vintage signage, like race car sponsorship stuff... What do you all think???
Right??? What a big crybaby. Drug the new property owners through the mud, he demanded 1500 for the truck and I called BS that I had over 500 into it for fuel, hauling and disposal of that carbuncle camper.... He ended up forcing the real estate agent to pay him a grand. Cost him more than that fr an attorney.... What a jerk. My truck now... Buzz off!!!!
Thank you... It's nearly rust free.... I'm in love....
That's the spirit!
I used Simple Green and stuff called Super Purple. Rinsed it all out and it smelled good until I started the truck... The vent air is horrible... Hack hack gag.... Have the dash pulled apart... Will get the vents pulled out andin the tub to soak... Greased lightening you say??? I'll give it a go.
Take the cowl mesh covers off and suck the nest out of the plenum. Then hit it with your cleaner dujour and copious amounts of water.
If the plastic ducts and heater box are full of urine soaked nesting material or smell of mouse urine replace them. It's not a terrible job. Getting rid of the mouse urine smell that's soaked into the plastic is close to impossible.
The blower cover and or AC box may be full of mouse nest. You may be able to salvage a Fiberglass AC cover. If a steel heater only cover has rusted from urine exposure just get another.
Rodent urine soaked heater and evaporator cores will leak if they haven't done so yet.
Put some hardware cloth over the vent and heater intake openings in the kick panels... rodents don't like chewing wire.
Nice score! Rat piss does linger around for a while, but with all the scrubbing you've done, sounds like you've uprooted the vermin and are on the right track to sanitize their excrement.
I would be so sick from that. The one hazard of my hobby is a sinus infection from a mouse nest. I handle them wet or I get super sick!
Hantivirus is a bad thing.
Yes Sir! Had a truck that the fan shroud was full of mouse nest. I was leaning over the core support operating the throttle when I gave the word to crank it over to my old man. It fired up and I was lost in a cloud of mouse nest. I was sick for 3 months after that!
