It basically turned into "no time, no plan, no money, no place to work" and sat around in pieces for a few years before I scrapped most of it. It probably would go differently if I started it today

So, I kinda sorta snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today, haha. Cut a rough hole in the floor to get the trans installed so I could measure for a driveshaft. Got the truck up in the air afterward, and stabbed the trans, which went surprisingly well, it almost fell right into place, and we got it bolted up...and then realized that I forgot to torque the pressure plate bolts, and that the hole in the floor wasn't quite big enough to get the rear of the trans up on the crossmember...so I used a screwjack to raise it up as close as I could get and measured for the front section of the driveshaft (2 piece due to the length of the crewcab, rear section doesn't change), and then we had to pull the trans back out, and ran out of time to work today.

    So close! ARG!

Random pictures from yesterday and one today. Was too frustrated to take pictures of the trans installed, heh.

Got someone on the hook for $650! :D It does have a brand new harness and all new seals/gaskets, w/ torque converter that only has 3,500 miles on it.

Got more done today. Trimmed out the floor some more to fit the trans in (though I still have to trim it out nicely to mate up with the bolt in hump, still just a rough cut at this point). Got my new crossmember slightly modified to clear my catalytic converters, painted, and installed. At this point, the transmission is officially installed! I got the steering column out today as well.

Tomorrow I'll drill the holes for the clutch master cylinder, finish swapping the pedal assembly, and get the floorshift column installed. I have measurements for the driveshaft, so I'm taking that to the driveshaft place first thing in the morning, hoping I'll have it back by Friday. I should be able to button up the basics to make it drivable by then. From there, I'll drive it over to my place and finish up all the small details remaining.

You've got room for a very large floor console next to that bucket seat.

It's some random RockAuto magnet that wound up on there for some reason, probably one of my kids, haha.

I'm curious does the nv4500 have any more travel in the shifter than an the sm456?
