engine and tranny swap question

hey guys i have a 1983 chevy k20 it has a 350 and a t400 trans i want to make it a manual but not a 4 speed because the trucks going to see a lot of higway miles but also the occasional off roading. i also want to swap the 350 for a 454 does anyone have any ideas or any experience on what transmission i should use

NV4500 would be a good option. 5 speed, still has a 5.61 granny low (6.34 if you grab a 93-94 model), and .73 overdrive. They came in 1993-2007 GM trucks (and Dodges).

In your case, you'd need to buy an advance adapters bell housing to run the mechanical clutch linkage. Advance Adapters has a lot of info about them on their page, along with adapters for putting a t-case behind them.
