The rubber around the center support bearing on my truck is a bit dry rotted and a small piece is missing from the bottom side. Do people think this is worth replacing as a preventive measure or should I just let it ride? If I push/pull on the driveshaft, there is a little play, but not much. Also if anybody could help me identify what part type or number I need for this, that would also be helpful. Found there are many options in on-line parts catalogs. This is a short wheelbase, 89 V3500 with 7.4 and manual trans. To the right in the photo is rearward on the truck. Could I do this job with standard tools or is this something that needs a press?
