door window switches

anybody got a good trick for tightening the connection on the door window switch?? Mine don't seem to want to tighten up. Yes they are new screw caps. Its the retainer that hold the connector on the switch

Don’t understand. The switches clip in and the Plug snaps on to the switch posts.
the round retainer that holds the connector on the switch, its about the size of a quarter

The plugs are friction fit. The screw caps are just there as a formality. If your plugs fit loose, the terminals will need re-tensioned.

plugs fit tight had to pry them off gently of course thanks

No, they are just a retainer to keep them from falling off. But as you mentioned, the connectors normally take some force to remove from the switch.

My apologies. With 2 power window squares in the last half dozen years, neither has had the retainer screws on any of the switches. Didn’t know they existed but I guess that is what the long stud that protrudes thru the plug is for.
Ya I wouldn’t worry aboot it.

Retainers screws threaded onto the longer switch shaft pIn, not pushed on. Might be why yours are no longer staying on???
