I'm trying to convert my mechanical clutch SM465 to hydraulic using stock GM parts instead of the overly expensive aftermarket slave cylinders or forking out the cash for a new bellhousing. Does anyone have a hydraulic bellhousing that they can pull some dimensions off of for the location of the centerline of the slave? I'm going to fab a bracket, but if someone has one they can measure it will save me a lot of time. Thanks.

I can attempt to get some measurements for you.

I think there's a couple companies that make a simple bracket already. Novak may be one of them.

As far as I can tell Novak and Advance Adapters make solutions, but one of them only fits their custom bellhousing and the other doesn't use a stock slave cylinder.

I thought I had found one that uses the stock unit. Maybe I bookmarked it somewhere.

I plan on heading out to the garage later, I'll see about getting some useful measurements.

That'd be awesome. Thanks.

Even if I found one, I'm going to build my own because I have more free scrap metal than money right now.

I didn't forget about this, I got measurements. I'm on draft #4, lol. Will hopefully finish up a final draft after dinner.

Holy crap dude. You are the man. I worked on a starter template tonight just getting the overall shape to be able to use those 2 mount bolts. I'm also using the z-bar pivot stud to give it some rigidity. I'll work on some final drawings of where I end up.

I have searched high and low across the internet and not been able to find anything on this other than people telling me to just buy a new bellhousing.

I'm not sure if the fork is different between mechanical and hydraulic. I've got both I can compare, but I don't remember where I "put away" the one for the mechanical setup. The part # on my hydraulic style clutch fork is easy to read if that is any help.

My understanding is that they are slightly different but the ratios and lengths match up. I have my old mechanical one and a new one for the hydraulic on the way from rock auto.

The only thing I didn't expect here is that the slave is mounted at an angle. All of the conversions mount it flat, I'll have to do some looking to see if it's worth machining an angled mount.

I believe the angle is needed for clearance to the engine block, but I'm sure there's room to squeeze it in closer.
