Detent cable

So the guy I got truck from screwed up the detent cable where it goes to carb.... Trying to find the proper replacement for my th350. 84 2wd c10 factory th350 inline 6... The picture makes it look like it's cobbled together from leftover parts?

Replacement cables, wether they be speedo, shift, throttle, detent or whatever... are all hit and miss. Some fit and work like they should, some don't.

That's what I'm trying to avoid. But everything is trial and error. Didt know if anyone has had any luck with it, or better suggestions
