My wipers have been acting goofy for awhile now, only in the intermittent position. Has anyone found a source or possibly someone that can repair the module. It looks like the 78-83 delay modules are like trying to find hens teeth.

I believe I found my delay box on summit, if I remember correctly. They are available though. Although it was an 84

From the info I've read so far, 1978 to 1983 are the years covered.

Lmc has an aftermarket version I'm pretty sure. If they have one I'm sure you can find one from another supplier, it won't be like factory exactly but you'll at least have intermittent wipers.

Is the delay module the 'box' on the steering column just behind the dash that also controls some of the other wiper functions?

Curious because my wipers just stop where they are when you turn the switch off instead of parking. I've noticed it is like a $90 part.

Yes. They are very hard to find and no longer produced. I lucked out and got a dash switch and module from a local guy parting out a truck for $20. I've never found a place that sold new ones.

They are near impossible to find. I swapped the delayed wiper system from a 1978 into my 1977 K10. It was a fairly straight forward swap until it came time to source the delay module. After much searching, I finally found a NOS module on ebay, but I had to pay $175.00 for it!

Check out Classic Industries website, I bet they have one that will work. I know I saw one in their catalog, and it didn't seem to be year-specific, just wire it in.

Yes, there are several aftermarket solutions. Apparently you used to be able to buy remanufactured delay modules, but they are no longer being made or remanufactured. There isn't much to them, I'm sure they can probably be repaired fairly easily if one goes bad and you have any basic electrical repair skills. Finding a functional period correct setup can be a challenge though.

I can't even find one on ebay - not sure I'd pay $175 even if I did, I'm a cheap skate. I can't believe with as many of these trucks that are still out there, nobody makes a replacement. The wipers in mine stop right where they are when you shut them off and the sprayer doesn't work. From what I understand this module controls both but an be bypassed (haven't found out how) to make the wipers work just like plain old on/off wipers. I may pull mine and open it up to see if there is anything a plain ol' Joe can do with it. If so I will take pics and do a writer up.

If it is like the later years harness, you can just unplug the module and the harness plugs into itself

The module only controls the wiper speed. It just passes through all the other things. The wiper switch and the module have the same plug, you just unplug the module from the switch and unplug the harness from the module and then connect the harness straight into the switch. That's on the 78-80 with the switch on the dash, 81-83 should have the column switch and the harness connections should be right there near the module, you just unplug both connections from the module and plug them together.
