New to the forum and looking to acquire my first square body and want to ensure a good value. Factory Automatic and AC w 5.7L. No Power Windows, No Power Locks but all there. After the research I have noted that RCSWB C10's did not offer a 5.7L from the factory and is most likely a 5.0L. Understand the SWB is more appealing and this is a driveable truck. The Centerline wheels would cost me another $500 but I do like em. All advice is much appreciated and my apologies if in the wrong section.

Not enough info to determine value yet imo.
No rust, runs drives and stops but basically needs a complete resto, mechanically and cosmetic I’d buy for $3k ish. Maybe up to 4 if the body and chassis is very clean (no rust or big dents).
Only reason that high is because short bed.
Add or subtract for better or worse or the market around you.

Thanks Grit Dog! Has some rust in the rockers and cab corners but nothing crazy. Does run and drive. Additional pictures added.

Thank you Double Dingo - Appreciate the response. He is looking for a tad more plus I will have fuel expenses of trailering it home.

2k is under 3k...lol... It may drive, but it looks like it hasn't moved for a very long time. You'll have to replace all the fluids, the belts and hoses, filters, and who knows what else. I stand by offering 2k and going from there.

Thanks again so much for your input. I couldn't agree with you more and then god forbid I should run into some real issues which would destroy my budget build. I love these trucks but I also understand that I can't be "In Love" with these trucks. LOL

I forgot to mention the tune-up, and probably tires. You'll have to check the brakes at the very least. I got mine for 1k. I really didn't want it. I offered him 1k expecting him to counter with 3k. He called and said to get the truck off his property. 1k it is. But I put and easy $400 in it as soon as I got it home.

1,500 in it, but how long ago, and what was done. I've had offers on mine, but it has sat for a while and if I wanted to get full price I would have to make sure it actually worked before selling it. Otherwise I would have to sell it for 500 over what I paid. But, some people have no conscience and will take you to the cleaners and not think twice about it.

Having a 350/5.7L is fairly common, even if the original engine was a 305. Basic GM crate engines were only available as 350’s, so it was a common swap/upgrade if there were any issues with the original 305.

Thank you 75gmck25 for your input. I'll need to dive a bit further when I go back to look at the truck again. This guy may not let it go for $2k so I may just wait it out. Any additional advice is deeply appreciated.

Good luck, I wish you well. Looks like a nice pickup.
I bought an '81 C/10, Custom deluxe, SWB, manual steering, manual brakes, 250 engine, 3 speed on the column, brown on brown, about 80,000 miles, needed a windshield, for $1400 in AK in 1992. I kept it for 11 years. One of the most reliable, simple vehicles I ever owned. I added a leaf in the rear, replaced the front glass, added a manual choke and did basic maintenance on it. I never replaced the clutch or brakes, it was my daily driver the whole time. I sold it for $1900. I figure I got my money's worth.
If you buy it, you'll be fixing it up for years to come. I wouldn't argue over a couple hundred bucks.
