87 K30. courtesy light and all other lights come on with the passenger door no problem. On the driver door, if I mess with the door switch, it will sometimes work. I took it out today to try and clean it up, and I noticed that when I pull it out of the hole, no matter what it doesn't work. In the hole, it seems to ground itself out to the hole and will occasionally work. Is this how its designed to work or do I have a bad ground wire?

Replace the switch and hope that fixes it?

Thanks.

That's how it works. The contact you need to clean is the where the pin meets the threaded body. Hold the body and push the pin and you will see it. Put some dielectric grease on the contact when you're done to help slow down corrosion. Also, hold the pin with something while you screw the body into the frame so you don't wind up the wire.
