Not sure if this is the right forum to use, but have a choke question. My 83 GMC C2500 with engine code 350M currently has a rigged up electric choke setup. What type of choke would have been original, would it have used a choke stove in the intake manifold? Engine is a replacement with replacement Quadrajet.

Had my truck been originally equipped with an electric choke, where would the relay have been located? I'm guessing the current location, zip-tied near the back of the air cleaner, is not original. I'm having trouble locating the relay on the 1983 wiring diagram/schematic.

It hooks up to an oil pressure switch so it only feeds power to the choke if there is oil pressure.

The oil pressure switch is located just above the oil filter on the block.

It is a SWITCH not a sender.

Thanks for the info. The engine is a replacement (1975 vintage if I'm reading the engine codes correctly) and it only has the oil pressure sender and no extra hole for the pressure switch. If I want to go back to the original method I've seen the suggestion to just put a Tee fitting in between the engine and the oil pressure sender and mount the pressure switch there.
