Coolant for C20 w/ 350

So I’m just about to do a flush and fill of my cooling system and wanted to make sure the stuff I bought will be good. It’s the conventional green 50/50. Unfortunately wasn’t long life but it’s all they had for green. Will this be okay?

Yep that's perfect. Just remember on antifreeze you just don't want to mix the kinds (colors).

How big is the radiator? I thought I read 5 gallons but I'm not sure if thats right. I am going to flush the whole thing like 3 times to make it run clear and then fill it up with new coolant. I'm doing the Chrisfix super flush your coolant system video.

Diluted coolant is a ripoff. Buy 2 @ $8.88 = 17.76. In those two you get a total of 1 gallon of concentrated anti-freeze.

1 gallon of concentrate costs $10.87.

Therefore you are buying a gallon of water for $17.76 - 10.87 = $6.89.

Want some waterfront property in Arizona?

The reason it was hard to find conventional green is because nobody uses it anymore. The "all makes, all models" stuff is the hot ticket for simplicity.

The reason it was hard to find conventional green is because nobody uses it anymore. The "all makes, all models" stuff is the hot ticket for simplicity.
Is that typically a better option for old trucks like ours? It doesn’t matter because I already did the flush and fill, but I’m just curious for the future.

I use the purple/pink g12++ antifreeze. It's the stuff you can get everywhere in Europe and have no issues since 5 years. No rust or sludge, looks like new. It's cheap too.
I think the new antifreeze chemicals cover all the needs of our old trucks.

I wouldn't say it's really any better, it's just the new type of coolant and it replaces all the various types.

The reason it was hard to find conventional green is because nobody uses it anymore. The "all makes, all models" stuff is the hot ticket for simplicity.

I find that here in Illinois it's harder to find the new crap over the green stuff. It must be because everyone in Illinois still drives old rusted out pieces of crap. (we are too broke to have inspection)

That is probably also why body work costs a lot here since there is no incentive from the government to fix rust holes in order to pass inspection.

There's no inspection in Ohio either. Some parts stores tend to stock different things. Even the rusty junk driving around often came new with specialized coolant. GM started with DexCool around '95, Ford had some yellow stuff by '00 or so and it all snowballed from there.
