I'm doing big things to my K5, and one of the things I really want to get rid of is the stock seatbelt with the button that sticks through the door. Running it without the door makes the belt not lock if I get in a wreck, and I don't trust the plastic button not to break down the road, so my question is are there any cheap options to replace it with a regular belt that works like the truck ones? I don't think a truck one will bolt on because it bolts in different, but I've been wrong before.

I thought the button only unlocked the belt in situations where it didn't otherwise unlock on its own.

I cut those buttons off my '82 model belts so they would fit in my '77. Hmm... You got me thinking now.

It's very possible mine isn't working right, but mine doesn't lock if the button isn't pressed and won't retract if the button is pressed.

Weird, mine definitely retract with that button removed.
