I was referencing @Ricko1966 's post RE limp mode.

So it just runs normal? Have you dyno'd such a setup? Just to see if its the same/similar considering it's a carb setup.
I've never dynod a stock carb 5.3, I likely never will, can't imagine it makes any more difference than any other EFI vs carb set up.

Which is to say, literally the same within a few hp in pretty much every other test ever.

Limp mode is just a default setting in the ECU if it were in the truck it came in originally, the transmission would default to 2nd or 3rd gear, depending on which transmission. The fuel would spray a safe preprogrammed amount of fuel, rich for safety sake and a preprogrammed ignition curve again something that will run the vehicle in a safe state so you can get to the car somewhere to get fixed. It is so if a sensor fails, you aren't stranded you get a check engine light, and a vehicle that still drives. I've seen people drive junk in limp mode like it was nothing it still moves. I'll keep driving it.

You're acting like this is an interrogation, or as if I'm selling you something lol.

Do it, don't do it, I'd lay money on you won't anyway, but either way it's not like I owe twenty answers here.

Im not acting like anything, im just asking now for the third time if youre using a map sensor to tell the pcm a reference for manifold pressure or not. Its pretty simple

I thought everyone already knew that. But you lose the big thing everyone attributes to the LS swap, drivabilty and fuel economy. The big reason for the better mpg and drivabilty is the fuel management. If I was going to stay carbed,I'd save the 1000.00 showed in your video and the other 1000.00 I was going to spend on,mounts exhaust, other knick knacks to make the swap and spend it towards a fresh rebuild and have a new engine that bolted right in and was going to be trouble free for 100k miles.
Chad has entered the chat. This is exactly the conclusion I arrived at.
