Hey, I’m considering swapping a bumper of an 86 C20 Van to my 85 Silverado will I need to make any modifications? I’m removing a step bumper from the pickup and the van has a regular chrome one. Thanks for your advise.

You may want to measure 1st. IIRC van frames are wider.

Doesn’t look like a frame at all it’s a unibody at least behind the rear axel. The van bumper brackets are bent on a 90 and bolt through the unibody, might be able to find some brackets of a truck that bolt on, the step bumper is all welded together. I’ll post pictures tomorrow, tonight’s date night with my wife.

Iirc, the bolt holes on Van bumpers are in very different places compared to the trucks. I'm positive about the front, and nearly positive about the rear. Other than that, the '78-'95 van bumpers are the same stampings as '73-'80 trucks.

Haha, I forgot that was even there. These days I normally post from my phone and don't see that.

I’m thinking about bolting or welding a piece of “C” channel and then bolt the van bumper through the “C” channel,
“by George I think I’ve got it” :33:
