You poor east coasters…..it’s statements like these that make me glad I left the rust belt.
Yikes! I just gave $50 for a set of them 73-80 style. Original rubber inserts almost like new. Theyre just waiting for a deal on an OE bumper that isn’t bent up and isn’t the wrap around rubber guard style like what’s on my ‘77.
BTW any market for this style of original wrap around bumper guard? They’re in perfect shape, could pop them out tomorrow for the right price. That bumper is going bye bye soon anyways.
Anyone local to here could have the bumper as well for free. “Driver quality” lol.
Would have been great if the guy that owned this truck for 45 years before me and only put 70k miles on it didn’t hit, scratch, dent or ding at least one part of the truck every time he drove it. Actually I think even on days he didn’t drive it, if he walked past it, for good measure, he smacked it with the business end of a hammer or screwdriver! And got it too close to his home improvement project because there’s house paint on one corner that cannot be removed.
Idk what brand of paint but it’s held up better than the factory car paint and is solvent proof!
That and the hack that added the left side aux fuel tank circa 1980 and mounted it too high (that’s why the cab looks saggy, it’s actually the bed sitting about 1/4” above the frame rail resting on the “structural” welded steel gas tank). But at least the fuel filler neck sticks out crooked and the hole is about 4” off compared to the factory location so an OE tank/filler swap will require a patch panel on the bedside….lol.
