Good afternoon. I’m new to to this site and do not know if I’m even posting in The right area. If not, I apologize and please direct there.

I have 1990 GMC Suburban V1500. I am looking to put a brush guard on it and I am having a hard time finding one. I can find bull bars but when it comes to full brush guards, the fit guides do not specify this model year.

My question is will a brush guard from C/K 1500’s fit on the frame where they mount? In other words are all suburbans built on the same frame as the trucks? If so, in theory, the guard should fit right?

I realize some C/K body stuff fits and that subject has been beat up to death. But I think this is a frame question.

Any help would be appreciated. I’d post pics but the thing is getting rhino lined (another topic of debate that is out there) and I won’t have it back for a few weeks.

thank you

I am 70% sure the front end of the frame is the same. I know the rear is different.

All the brush guards I have seen used the bumper bolts to mount.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I appreciate it. I was referring to the kind that mounts where the tow hooks are. Similar to these. mid the front measurements are the same then I assume it would work...maybe?

I am pretty sure the frames are different between squares and newer stuff. Could be made to work. But I don't believe it will be as easy as bolt on.

Your best bet is to find one used made for a square.

No problem. I did the same search when I had a 91 Suburban. Came up dry.

I just used an ORD bumper on the 91. Just checked they are no longer listed.

On my 88 now I have an older DIY4X bumper. Call him up, he does alot of custom work, may do a brush guard.

I appreciate the information. And quick replies and you checking to see if parts are available. You went Above and beyond. I’ll start looking at other options.

Itll take some hunting but every so often you can catch one of the wrecker push bumper/brush guards on craigslist.
