I have an 83 gmc suburban and I’m replacing the brake hoses at the calipers. I put a lift on it and need longer hoses. I’m seeing some hoses that go from years 71 to 78 and the connections look the same as the hoses for the 83. So what I’m wondering is what’s the difference in the 70s hoses to the 80s hoses? And can I use them or not? I do see hoses for my year also but they are twice the price. So just checking before I order. I figured I’d check and see if anybody knew that has more knowledge on these

They switched to metric. Buy the ones for your exact year. If everything is stock you'll be good.

Ahhh ok. So the threads on the top of the hose is different. the caliper connection is the same maybe. I need extended hoses for a 4 inch lift.

Early banjo bolt (at caliper) is 7/16. Later is 10mm. As was said. Buy for the year you have, as long as calipers are stock.
